A 47,000 acre wildfire in Arizona that required 800 firefighters to risk their lives to extinguish at a cost of $8.2 million was caused by one of those gender reveal ceremonies involving a target rigged with the highly explosive tannerite shot with a high-velocity firearm.
Tuscon.com reports Border Patrol Agent Dennis Dickey admitted to starting the fire by shooting at the tannerite releasing a plume of blue smoke (presumably to announce a boy) and starting a massive wildfire. Dickey plead guilty in federal court to a misdemeanor charge of causing a fire without a permit and has agreed to pay $220,000 in restitution.
